Another week, another Round-Up.
I had my Phantasy Star Online: Version 2 disc resurfaced last week and it’s all I’ve been playing on my Dreamcast. I brought it out to celebrate its 20th anniversary and its taken over. I should be playing Borderlands 3, which is actually hilarious and I’m really enjoying it, but my brother has been busy lately and we’re going through the story together. The same thing happened with Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers, but I don’t mind. Borderlands is better when experienced with others. I’ll keep playing Phantasy Star in the mean time.
Anyway’s, here’s what’s on my mind…
Dragon Quest 1, 2, & 3 Coming To Nintendo Switch In The West!
The popularity of Dragon Quest continues to rise in the West. It was officially announced today that the first three entries in the Dragon Quest series would see a release on September 27th, for the Nintendo Switch. This release date coincides with Dragon Quest XI S which will release on the exact same day. Needless to say, there will be an overwhelming amount of Dragon Quest to play on Nintendo’s portable console. Now if we could just see a release over here for the MMORPG Dragon Quest X that would be great.

Insane Platform Shooter ‘Bob and Prickle’ To Release In 2020
Developed by Crealode Games, Bob and Prickle is a fast-paced platform shooter set in the city of Lightbul during the 2040’s. Flying cars and robots are just an everyday way of life. The evil corporation ‘NZT’ is hellbent on taking over the city with this new drug they’ve created called ‘Catrik‘ which transforms anyone who takes it into some kind of new being called a ‘Mazlom‘. You’ll play as Bob (a mall cop and self-proclaimed superhero) and be able to summon his assistant Prickle (a cactus who wears blue shorts and sunglasses). Along with a variety of weapons at your disposal, you’ll have access to a jet-pack to maneuver through each level. Promising fast and smooth gameplay, addictive shooting mechanics, an involving story, and weapons and power-ups galore, Bob and Prickle could be right up your alley when it releases in early 2020.
Sega Genesis Mini Releases Thursday
While I’m waiting for the Dreamcast Mini (it better be a thing), the Sega Genesis Mini will fill that void in the meantime. Loaded with 40 games (including Castlevania: Bloodlines!) and two controllers, you can experience some major nostalgia with that special someone when this next classic mini console releases later this week.
Sega Genesis Mini releases on September 19th, 2019
‘Watchmen’ Looks Promising
As a fan of the Alan Moore/Dave Gibbons graphic novel and Zack Snyder film of the same name, I’m coming into this adaptation with fresh eyes. Developed for TV by Lost and The Leftovers creator Damon Lindelof, Watchmen takes place in an alternate contemporary reality in the United States, in which superheroes and masked vigilantes were outlawed due to their violent methods. This results in one side looking to start a revolution, while the other is looking to stop it. It was revealed that the Watchmen series will not be a direct adaptation of the original source material, instead, being “remixed”, looking to tell an entirely new story set in the world where the events of the original story took place. Watching the trailer makes me feel as though its a sequel to the novel, but who knows. We’ll find out next month.
Watchmen premieres on HBO October 20th, 2019
Daybreak Official Teaser
How could one describe Netflix’s new series Daybreak? The best way would be that what if The Walking Dead, any high school movie or TV you’ve watched in your life, and Mad Max had a baby? Daybreak would be the result. Just watch the trailer and see for yourself. It looks promising.
