There have been plenty of great trailers released this past week, I’ve posted a few of these to our Facebook page, but I figured those of you who don’t follow the page or haven’t seen these trailers yet, well you could just check them all out here instead!
Also, Avengers: Endgame this weekend!
(you already knew that though)
I remember watching the original animated series of Swamp Thing on Fox TV way back in the day (1991 to be precise). This version, which is executive produced by James Wan, looks to embrace the horror elements of the character and bring us a live action version of the New 52 Swamp Thing. It looks hella spooky.
Swamp Things will be available on DC Universe May 31st, 2019
Based on Garth Ennis’ (Preacher, Crossed) comic series of the same name, The Boys takes place in a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame. It’s The Boys (a group of ruffians) responsibility to put these superheroes in their place. The comic is fantastic. Full of sex and violence, it seems the show is going to replicate that well (in-case the thumbnail didn’t give that away), so if that’s your kinda thing, you’re gonna love it. Kind of pissed Simon Pegg isn’t playing Hughie though
The Boys premieres on Prime Video, July 26th, 2019
Godzilla: King of the Monsters
Who doesn’t love a great monster movie? It seems like director Michael Dougherty (Trick ‘r Treat, Krampus) is going all in with this film. Not only do we get Godzilla, but they’ve thrown in Mothra, Rodan & Ghidorah as well. To say this trailer is nothing short of epic is an understatement.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters is in theaters May 31st, 2019
Game of Thrones: Season 8 Episode 3
I have a feeling (like many others) that a lot of our favorite characters are going to die in this episode involving the living versus the dead. Sitting at a whopping 82 minutes, it’s apparently the longest battle ever filmed. It’s also directed by Miguel Sapochnik (he directed “The Battle of the Bastards” episode… ’nuff said). The wife and I are awaiting our Game of Thrones wine and beer order, so hopefully it arrives before Sunday so we can drink our sorrows away.
Game of Thrones’ final season is available on HBO
This looks just straight up hilarious. “After losing his parents, a priest travels to China, where he inherits a mysterious ability that allows him to turn into a dinosaur. At first horrified by this new power, a hooker convinces him to use it to fight crime. And ninjas.” Seriously, that’s the synopsis. If that isn’t a recipe for movie magic, I don’t know what is. It was making the rounds at film festivals last year so expect some kind of news as to an official release date in the coming months.
I know this trailer came out awhile ago, but I still go back to it and watch it. Joaquin Pheonix looks like he is going to give the performance of a lifetime. I’m beyond hyped for this.
Joker is in theaters October 4th, 2019
