The Round Up – March 23rd, 2018

Another week, another Round Up.

How’s everyone?

I’m absolutely, beyond hyped for Ready Player One next Thursday.  We were hoping to check it out in IMAX, but the closest theater won’t be playing it in IMAX because it’s down for maintenance.  Oh well, that won’t hinder us from checking it out in AVX.  Hope to have my review out for it on the 30th.

I’ve been making my way through the new (new to me anyways) content in Final Fantasy XIV.  My Free Company helped me beat the Byakko trial last night, so I’m hoping to move onto Byakko EX real soon.  I’m also eager to farm Deviljho in Monster Hunter World some more once I’m done typing this out.

Anyways, let’s have a look at what else is on my mind this week…….

Santa Clarita Diet Season 2 starts today

This show is amazing.  My wife and I binge watched the first season when it came out, and we’ve been making our way through it again to get ready for season 2.  The cast is outstanding.  If you haven’t watched this yet, do yourself a favor, AND WATCH IT.  Timothy Olyphant is my favorite husband/father in distress.  His reactions to everything crack me up.

Santa Clarita Diet Season 2 is now streaming on Netflix

New Deadpool 2 trailer is hilarious/action packed

“From the studio that brought you 27 Dresses & The Devil Wears Prada”.

This year is turning out to be quite a year for movies.  Ready Player One is next week, Avengers: Infinity War (below) is in April, Solo in May, Aquaman in December.  It’s a buffet that doesn’t stop.  Apparently test screenings for Deadpool 2 were at 98%, whereas Deadpool was only at 94%.  It looks like Ryan Reynolds and crew still have the magic touch.

Deadpool 2 hits theaters May 18th.

New Avengers: Infinity War trailer because why not

I know this trailer came out last week, but it’s just too awesome not to share again.  Hopefully it won’t buckle under the pressure of having too many heroes in one movie.  If they spread out the story evenly enough over both films, I don’t see how it can’t work (Civil War was fantastic and it easily could have been two movies).

Avengers: Infinity War is in theaters April 27th

Deviljho is here!

I’ve only had the chance to fight him twice so far, but he’s quite the formidable opponent.  The 2nd battle against him ended up with a giant turf war between Deviljho, Beetlejuice and a Great Jagras.  It was absolute pandemonium, with the Deviljho chomping down on the Jagras and smashing him into the ground.  He then moved onto the Beetlejuice and stomped on it, causing it to let off an explosion underneath him.  I can’t wait to build his armor set and weapons.  Welcome to Monster Hunter World you crazy bastard.

Titan Quest is now available on consoles

Titan Quest has finally made its way to consoles.  Be sure to check out my review to see what I thought of this old school, battle with the titans action RPG, and how well it has made the transition to consoles.

Titan Quest is now available on PS4 & Xbox One

Pacific Rim: Uprising opens this weekend

I enjoyed the first one.  I don’t think it reached its full potential, but there were still some really cool fights and effects throughout.  This one looks to be more of the same, minus Guillermo Del Toro in the directors chair (the new director has only helmed some TV episodes for Buffy & Daredevil), but my son is adamant on seeing it, so I’m sure I’ll be taking him at some point during its run.

Pacific Rim: Uprising starts in theaters today

Hope you guys have a great weekend!

That’s it for The Round Up, until next time! – NVJ
