Another week, another Round Up.
The Round Up on a Wednesday? What’s this world coming to. Lately, I’ve been playing a ton of FFXIV. All my other games are on the back burner currently. I’m so close to finishing Persona 5 but I just don’t have the drive to go back to it yet. I finally hit 110 on my Rogue in World of Warcraft, which made my wife super happy (she’s way more hardcore into WOW then I… I’m not kidding….it’s scary) but I’m already trying to grind out new gear and level classes for Stormblood. I’m all about that Stormblood life. Once I’ve finished the first four parts of the new Omega raid, I should be able to devote my time to other games (maybe).
Anyways, let’s see what’s on my mind this week…….
Deadpool Founder’s Pack Giveaway!
The kind folks at Gazillion have provided us with 3 Marvel Heroes Omega – Deadpool Founder’s Packs for PS4 to giveaway. If you want a chance to win one, head on over to the contest page to see how you can enter! If you have no idea what Marvel Heroes Omega is (shame on you), be sure to check out our first impressions.
Spider-Man: Homecoming in theaters tomorrow
I’m really excited to see this one. My kids keep asking about it too which is awesome. Tom Holland nailed the role (and stole the show) in Captain America: Civil War. It’s getting rave reviews. I’m not lying when I say my expectations are very high for this one. I won’t have a chance to see it till Saturday, but I’m hoping to have the review up on Sunday.
Cuphead release date revealed. Proclaimed ‘100% Xbox One/PC Exclusive’
I’ve always been a PS4 fanboy, so this comes as a letdown for me. We do have a ton of exclusives but this game looks amazing. It’s like a playable Mighty Mouse cartoon. I probably just aged myself mentioning Mighty Mouse. There’s already lots of hype surrounding this, and I’m sure it’s only going to pick up as the game nears its release date. It’s slated for release September 29th, 2017 on Xbox One & Steam.
FFXIV: Stormblood Patch 4.01 released
The biggest addition in this patch is the new raid, Omega. My brother and I ran part 1 of 4 last night. It wasn’t too hard of a fight but it’s cool nonetheless, with some great FF5 music in the background. The highlight of the entire thing was my bro, who mains a WHM, kept dcing throughout the fight. I play RDM so I could provide back up heals and rez anyone that fell if need be. I would tell my brother certain mechanics were going to happen over voice chat, but he was so far behind lag wise, he had no idea what the hell was going on. Hopefully part 2 won’t be as lag crazy. There are a host of other features you can check out with the full patch notes here.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age releases next Tuesday
I have waaaay too many hours poured into the PS2 version of FFXII. It took awhile to grow on me, but FFXII & Balthier quickly became two of my favorites in the entire series. We ARE getting an entirely new Job Based system which sounds amazing. There’s also the option to increase game speed X4. This would be a blast for grinding all those levels and license points with gambits equipped. I’m not sure I could convince my wife to buy a $60 game just so I could watch my characters level really fast. I’ll be sure to make a post if this magic happens.
New Square-Enix game ‘Antique Carnevale’ teased
Right now all we have to go on is this character trailer of Bernhard that’s entirely in Japanese. There will be other character reveals July 7th, 10th, 12th and 14th. A full reveal will happen July 18th. A lot of people are assuming this is another mobile game from SE. If you want a full translation, head on over to Gematsu. The story seems to be typical Square madness, with dolls becoming people and people becoming dolls, who go into a labyrinth…..and stuff…….. SIGN. ME. UP.
That’s it for The Round Up, until next time! – NVJ
