Another week, another Round Up.
Everybody have a good weekend? I did some barbecuing, hung out with the family, just chilled. My nights were spent playing Marvel Heroes Omega. I won’t be shutting up about that game anytime soon. The closed beta launched on PS4 last Friday. It literally consumes all of my spare time, pushing Persona 5 to the side (gasp!). It’s a blast to play and I definitely encourage anyone to give it a go. Pick up a Founder’s Pack to gain instant access. I even made a top 10 list of the heroes I love to play, feel free to give it a gander. Go on, I’ll wait till you get back……….
Back? Alright! There’s lots of great stuff to talk about this week so let’s get to it.
A new Kingsman: The Golden Circle trailer dropped today. This one shows a bit more than the last trailer (approximately 1 minute 42 seconds more). The whole gang has returned; Eggsy (Taron Egerton), Roxy (Sophie Cookson), Merlin (Mark Strong) and Harry…..? (Colin Firth). I can’t wait to find out how Harry is making a return. Other big names joining the franchise include Halle Berry, Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges & Julianne Moore. “The Kingsman’s headquarters has been completely destroyed, throwing the team into disarray. With the help of another spy agency, they will take on a common enemy.” The first one was fantastic so I will definitely be checking this out.
Kingsman: The Golden Circle opens in theatres September 22nd, 2017.
Call of Duty WWII (a friend of mine keeps calling it Call of Duty Wii, and now that’s all I call it) has an official revealing tomorrow. There was a leak that gave away a November 3rd, 2017 release date, and also mentioned campaign co-op . Also, if you pre-order you gain beta access. I haven’t been excited for a Call of Duty game since Modern Warfare 3 back in 2011. I’m stoked to see the franchise go back to its roots. Battlefield 1 proved that you don’t need crazy futuristic robots to make a great war game. Call of Duty 2 was definitely my favourite in the series, let’s hope they can capture that magic again.
Code Vein was officially unveiled last week. A hardcore action RPG from Bandai Namco, will be releasing next year. It will take place in the future, where the world has been turned to ruin (of course). The player controls a “Revenant” (a type of Vampire) that is fully customizable. You can also take a “Buddy” into dungeons with you to help out. As of right now it sounds like this is A.I controlled, but you can customize them as well. The graphics are gorgeous and set it apart, but everything else about the game screams Dark Souls/Bloodborne. The Revenant even turn into a type of monster called “Lost” when they lose their humanity (hollowed anyone?). The world is supposed to be much more open to explore. Other then some screenshots there’s not a lot of info to go on. There’s no word on what systems it will be playable on, but it’s from the developers of the God Eater series. I’m expecting it to be typical Souls with a twist, count me in. Hopefully there will be online dungeon crawling with some buds included when it launches.
Heroes of the Storm is getting a major overhaul with the release of “Heroes of the Storm 2.0” today. Genji, Cassia and D.VA join the ever growing roster of characters. A new map, skins, game modes, they’re even giving away 20 heroes for free! It’s bananas. There’s honestly way too many features to mention here, so do yourself a favour, and head on over to battle.net to get the full rundown on everything that’s being implemented with Heroes 2.0. It’s quite the update. The last time I played was about two months ago to get the special Genji skin. I think it’s about time to jump back in (and grab 20 free heroes).
That’s it for The Round Up! Until next time. – NVJ
